Just LOVE painting BIG!

Here are my two murals completed that I was commissioned to do with the City of Ventura. They both reside on the Beach Promenade next to the Crowne Hotel, further down at the beachfront Condos. The residents there have been thrilled about them!

Reception is over, but paintings up until March 4th, 2016

The Reception at Fox Jeweler's has come and gone! It was so well received, with tons of people, so lively with music and drink and truly a good time for all.
Fox Jeweler's has these receptions about every three months, by the way.
Here I am next to some of my paintings.
Now, Wendy Winet's paintings and mine will be hanging until March 4th, so there's still plenty of time to go see them!
Maybe before or after having a nice dinner at one of the many great restaurants on Main Street?
Where are our paintings? Fox Jeweler's, 560 E. Main Street, Downtown Ventura. or call 805.652.1800

New oil painting still drying of Ventura & Goleta. I'm loving painting in the outdoors again!

Setting up my easel at Surfer's Point in Ventura, I painted this scene along the boardwalk. Look closely and you can see the Ventura Pier in the distance.

From my original oil painting I offer four types of beautiful GiclĂ©e Prints.  See at why Etsy shop at the link below.  I also have a couple others to share below. One of Ventura Pier looking out to the city of Ventura and one of Goleta Beach. I still will always paint Santa Barbara scenes too!

My Upcoming Art Exhibition in Ventura with Wendy Winet

Wendy Winet who is also a local Artist in Ventura and myself are putting on a show in January at Fox Jeweler's.

Fox Jeweler's always puts on a great reception with music (sometimes live), wine and yummy food.   Lots of people come in especially for the reception and it's always a big event.

Both of us will have at least 12 paintings hanging on their walls throughout this very impressive store.

All paintings will be shown from January 21st to March 6th.

Please come for the reception or anytime within those dates to see our work.  Hope to see you there and have a great holiday!

"Harmony and Mirth" Art Exhibition

"Harmony and Mirth", Juried Art Exhibition at the "Studio Channel Islands Studios Main Gallery in Old Town Camarillo.

I got accepted with my special painting titled “Birds of a Feather”.  Here’s me standing by it at our reception last Friday. It will remain at  the gallery until December 28th along with many other paintings and sculptures.

It is a juried membership show and I feel honored in being one of limited number of artists selected and being amongst so much talent and a few of them being renowned.

The gallery is worth the visit!

Greener Pastures

Painting in my studio this morning on some larger pieces, I randomly picked up a little 5"x7" panel and this is what came out of my head.  Using a big brush that is 2" wide, it took me about 10 minutes.

I love the strong sky.  I'm loosening up my technique and to paint with bigger brush strokes, being more expressive and fluid.  I want to get more into the paint or at least making it just as important as the subject matter.

I've named this piece "Greener Pastures"
